Taste of Cultures: A foodie's delight

DEIB in CSOM: Natalie Garayevas winning proposal brought together ten social clubs for a vibrant Taste of Cultures event, where each group showcased dishes representing their respective cultures. The Chinese Student Association earned the Best Cuisine prize based on attendee votes.

James Koonce '26 and Josiah Kondo '26

The inaugural Next Wave Challenge invited students to pitch their most innovative ideas and entrepreneurial ventures in a Shark Tank-style competition. The grand prize was awarded to BranchOut, a friendship app developed by James Koonce, Josiah Kondo, and William Kelly.

Summer grants泭were awarded to students participating in unpaid internships at a wide range of organizations focused on healthcare outreach, environmental investing, land conservation, state legislation, judicial shadowing, global communications at the United Nations, and work with the Jesuit Refugee Service in Bangkok, Thailand. Travel grants also supported students pursuing career-related opportunities around the world, with projects exploring global healthcare, migration, biomedical injustice, climate change, and the legacy of female slavery.

Five students also received a grant to attend the program, which connects young women with female leaders from Fortune 500 companies, tech giants, government agencies, retail, the sporting industry, and other companies for networking and mentorship opportunities.
